From Grain to Bread

In the workshop, children are first introduced to cereals and then encouraged to try to thresh corn, which is later ground in a hand mill, žrmelj, in a traditional Zagorje house, hiža. They are then introduced to traditional aprons, which are worn by all who take part in the workshop, and attend a bread-dough making demonstration, after which each visitor makes a bread of their own, which is baked in the bread ovens in the črna kuhinja kitchen and taken home as a souvenir.
